"I took up fly fishing in May of 2010 and went on one of my first guided trips with Jon Baiocchi on the wild and scenic Middle Fork of the Feather River. As a beginner he was very helpful teaching me how to read the river, turn over stones to look for bugs and how to fly fish pocket water. Since then I have practised and studied fly fishing and have become quite proficient at it. This last June I hired Jon to take me out in his boat on Lake Davis for a different style of fly fishing. It was fantastic, we had my 6 year old son with us and Jon was super patient with him and Jake had a blast too. This August I hired Jon to teach me how to fish on the North Fork of the Yuba. I had never been to that area of the Sierra's and it is one of the most beautiful watersheds I have ever seen. With Jon's instruction i caught at least 30 fish in two days! Ranging in size from 6 inches to 16 inches, it was amazing. He also taught me how to collect insects out of the river and pick the appropriate nymph or dry fly to match the hatch. Jon's knowledge and passion for fly fishing is outstanding and he is a pleasure to spend the day with!"
